There are many, many, many brands of bicycles in China besides the "Famous Four". A lot of these manufacture to a standard that closely matches the major manufactures like Forever and Flying Pigeon. This allows a fair amount of interchangeability of spares. The street side bike doctors can only keep so many parts on their tricycle, and if they had to stock unique parts for all the different brands, street side service would never work. One of these "other" brands is Jin Shi.
Their roadster, the Golden Lion, is manufactured in Changzhou, Jiangsu province, nearby Shanghai. It is your basic brake rod roadster, although many models seem to have scaled down wheels of a 24" size. I should also note that they follow more of a French style with aluminum "Rando" fenders rather than steel fenders so typically found on roadsters
Jin Shi also may have the most entertainingly antiquated website possible. It has seemingly not been updated since the 1990s and proclaims their bikes are manufactured to "1980's standards". Granted, the 1980s were, in some regards, a high point of bicycle manufacture in China, but the 80's were 20 years ago and now this just seems strange. Presumably things have improved since then, but you would not know from looking at the site. Enjoy this little time capsule.
This goes on the top ten list for coolest headbadges ever.
